Sassafras Park – CSRA Kids Picks

Sassafras Park

As part of our 100 Days of Summer Fun, we wanted to highlight some of the best parks around the CSRA! The kids will be full of energy and it is so nice to get outside (mom get a chair with an umbrella) and let the kids get sweaty and tired! Plus, if you are new to town, this will give you an opportunity to get to know the area and explore your new city.

Sassafras Park: Playground and Splash Pad

Hidden away in the Valley is a great playground and splash pad called Sassafrass Park.  This park is fully gated, two play systems, tons of fun and unique play features, the play area is adaptive and the gated splash pad is nearby. The park is located behind the Burnettown Municipal Building and it’s worth the drive from Aiken. There is a nice shaded spot near the splash pad where you can sit, read a book and allow the kids to play. There is also a shaded gazebo with picnic tables and some more picnic tables in the lot. This park is perfect for toddlers. You can allow them to wander, play in the sand and wash them off outside the splash pad. There is also a water fountain located near the splash pad as well.

Oh! If your kiddos are a little bit on the adventurous side…there is a zip line feature that I think that they will enjoy.
