In-Store Activities for Kids in the CSRA
Looking for something different to do? You can get the kids out of the house and entertain them without breaking out your wallet. There are stores around town that offer kid activities/classes for free or at a low cost. Some places will even entertain your kids while you shop. Here is a list of some local places that provide some great fun!
Home Depot
Home Depot offers monthly free workshops every first Saturday of the month. A parent must be present. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a free certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.
Micheals
Micheal’s offers in-store craft classes that are great for all ages. The classes meet each Sunday and no registration is required. The classes are free.
Barnes and Noble
Barnes and Noble offer a weekly Wednesday time. They also have a very fun kids’ area with a stage/reading area.
Joann Fabric
Joann Fabric offers make-and-take kits for kids on the first Saturday of each month.
Kroger
Kroger offers a Saturday cooking class called Kroger Chef Junior. Kids will be able to make a tasty treat during this 20-minute workshop. Activities can range from cupcake decorating to making a fruit pizza. Each kid will receive a chef hat, apron, recipe card and box, cooking utensil and patch. The recommended ages are 4 to 10, but all are welcome. The class is offered in Augusta and Grovetown.
Lowes
Lowe’s offers a DIY Kids Workshop on select dates. The projects vary from month to month. The classes are held on Saturday.
