Fall Farm Fun At Steed’s Dairy

Fall fun is here and if you are planning a trip to a farm then you want to consider Steed’s Dairy. This local farm is jam packed with activities for the whole family to enjoy. This includes a corn maze, playground space, a massive jumping pillow, pumpkin patch and more! Learn more below.

About Steed’s Dairy

Steed’s Dairy is an agri-tourism farm that is nestled in Columbia County. The farm was founded in 1934 by John Steed Sr. It started off as a cotton farm and then in 1946, they added cows. The farm was run by Steed Sr. and his son Steed Jr. They saw much success as dairy farmers until the rise of “factory farms” ran by international corporations. In 2005, faced with selling the family farm or moving the farm, he began to search for ways to keep the family land. Around that time, he began to hear about agri-tourism and how other farmers were having success with corn mazes. They already were giving tours to school groups so it was a natural fit for them. In the Fall of 2010, Steed’s Dairy opened its maze for the first time.

The Corn Maze at Steed’s Dairy

The Maize at Steed’s Dairy is a hit for locals looking to enjoy some fall fun. Each year Steed’s picks a theme and provides your family with acres of twists and turns. This year they won’t have a haunted maze, but it can still be fun at night with some glow sticks!

The Activities

The corn maze isn’t the only cool feature at Steed’s Dairy. They have so many cool activities for your family to do that make it a perfect family outing. All of these activities are included in the admission price:

Real Cow-Milking Demonstration
5 Acre Corn Maze
Hayride
Petting Zoo
Pumpkin Patch
Jumping Pillow
Giant Tube Slide
Corn Kernel Pit
Rubber Duckie Race
Lil’ Kiddie Play Area
Kid’s Zip Line
Pony Cart Rides

My family’s personal favorite was the massive jumping pillow and the giant tube slide. It was something we all could enjoy and there was a lot of giggling. If you are worried about little ones, they will enjoy the playground areas and the corn kernel pit.

Planning Your Visit

Steed’s Dairy is open on Saturdays and Sundays from September 28 – November 13. They are closed on weekdays and Fridays for private events. The farm will be open from 10 AM – 9 PM on Saturday and 1 PM – 7 PM on Sundays. The price of admission is $12 per person and 2 and under are free. This includes all the activities. There is an extra cost for concessions and pumpkin picking. I recommend bringing cash.

Be sure to bring sunscreen and water. It is still warm in October and a small portion of November. The kids will be running around and you will want to keep cool.
