Summer Wading Bird Guided Drive/Hike

- Aug 13 2022
- Expired!
- 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Location
Phinizy is offering a Wading Bird Drive through the constructed wetlands.
We will do some driving and hiking in search of wading birds: egrets, herons, night-herons, storks, and ibis. We will also be looking for shorebirds and any other bird that flies our way. Why do this in the dog days of August? Wading birds can be really confusing at this time of year due to all the immature birds. Little Blue Herons can look like Snowy Egrets and Black-crowned Night-Herons can be hard to tell from Yellow-crowned Night-Herons.Come join the fun as we sort through these fascinating birds!
We will meet in the visitor’s parking lot at the front of the park.
This event is led by Phinizy staff, Ruth Mead, and Audubon’s field trip leader, Lois Stacey.
$5 charge: please register below and bring exact change the day of.
