The Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to delight our younger performers in April. This year, the attraction is GULLIVER’S TRAVELS, and we know our young actors will really love it. This is a fantastic opportunity for kids Kindergarten through 12th grade to participate in a musical production. The show is cast, staged and performed all in one week.

GULLIVER’S TRAVELS

With his ship wrecked and his trusty computer JCN on the fritz, brave explorer Gulliver finds himself lost in space with nothing but an Invisible Force to guide him! While transporting from world to world, under the control of the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta, Gulliver discovers fighting aliens, arrogant Horse Leaders of the foolish Yahoos, largerthan-life royalty (in more ways than one) and robots – all who need just as much help from Gulliver as Gulliver needs from them! Tune in as this sci-fi spin of the timeless tale of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS will take you out-of-this world!

AUDITIONS: Open to the entire community. April 16, 4:30-6:30pm, at Alexander Hall (Look for directional signs.)

If you are not a DOD ID Card holder, make sure you give yourself some extra time to get through the Gate.

Auditioners must be present for the entire audition session.

2:30 pm, at Alexander Hall

REHEARSALS:
April 16, 6:45-8:45pm,
April 17-20, 4:30-6:30pm and 6:45-8:45pm

Not all cast members will be required for every evening rehearsal, but we recommend that you clear your schedule for the entire rehearsal period, if you want to participate.
Approximately 60 youth will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play, but we do encourage all interested young performers to come out. Students wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and must stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal for some cast members begins approximately 15 minutes after the auditions, so we recommend you bring a sack-meal to auditions.

Participation in the show and workshop is FREE for all actors and backstage crew.

This is a group audition. No advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts! Participants should just be ready to come and have a good time!

Here are some important audition tips:
BE PROMPT. If you show up late, you will not be able to audition.
PAY ATTENTION to the directors. One of the primary qualities they are looking for in a youth audition is the ability to take directions.
BE WELL BEHAVED AND DISCIPLINED at auditions. If you talk when they are giving instructions, don’t pay attention, or are rude and uncooperative, you will miss the opportunity to be in this show.
SPEAK UP. You will be auditioning in a Gym with fans blowing. When reading or speaking lines, speak in a loud clear voice.
BE YOURSELF. Smile and enjoy the audition process. Show us how much fun it will be to work with you, and try not to be nervous. Everyone there will be in the same boat, and we all want you to succeed.

Admission will be free to the entire community as part of Fort Gordon’s Month of the Military Child Celebration.

Please note: It is not difficult to enter Ft Gordon. But please remember…..Under current policy all Non- Department of Defense ID Card holders must enter via Gate 1 on Gordon Highway. All adults entering Fort Gordon (16 years+) must have a valid photo ID (state DL, etc.) Drivers will also need proof of insurance and vehicle registration in their possession.
