The City of Augusta invites all citizens, visitors, and guests to join us for the annual Independence Day Celebration in Downtown Augusta. Our celebration begins at 5:00 pm with live music, food trucks, vendors, a kids zone, and much more. The fireworks show launches from right across the Augusta Common on the top levee of the Augusta Riverwalk at 9:15pm.

This one-day event includes a kiddie carnival, shopping, food, live entertainment and so much more. The night ends with a firework extravaganza unrivaled by anyone in the CSRA. MWR has made a goal of providing the Fort Gordon and local CSRA communities a safe and family-friendly environment to celebrate our great nation. No pets, tents, or coolers are allowed.

We invite everyone in the community to come to the Thomson-McDuffie Government Complex grounds to have a picnic on the lawn, enjoy fabulous foods, and a spectacular fireworks extravaganza.
The Thomson-McDuffie Fire Department will have the Fire Truck on site to spray water for the children to run through, lots of bounce houses, and games galore. This will be a fun-filled evening for all.

Step back in time to celebrate the birth of our country. This year we have added a parade and costume contest. Show your patriotic spirit and dress up. The Declaration of Independence will be read at 1:00 pm at the Meeting House. The Mayor of North Augusta will be our special guest. There will be limited refreshments and hot dogs. The historic buildings will be open during the event for guests to tour. Pets are welcome as long as they are well-behaved and on a leash.
