Splashing Into Skills: Otterball Is Coming to Augusta Kroc This Spring

If your kid loves the water but dreads traditional swim lessons, the Salvation Army Kroc Center Augusta has something worth knowing about, and it involves balls, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun.

Otterball is a high-energy, game-based aquatic program inspired by junior water polo, designed specifically for kids ages 6–12. Think of it as swim lessons meets a team sport, participants build real water confidence and swimming fundamentals through play rather than drills.

Over the course of the program, kids will practice basic ball-handling skills both in and out of the water, develop teamwork and sportsmanship, and take on age-appropriate challenges that keep them moving and engaged. It’s especially great for kids who thrive when they’re active and working alongside peers, not just swimming laps.
