NWTF Outdoor Adventure Camps – Featured Camp

National Wild Turkey Federation is offering outdoor sport themed camps this summer. Students will get the opportunity to learn how to hunt, fish, outdoor survival and STEM in the great outdoors. The camp will take place at the Hunting Heritage Center in Edgefield, SC. The camps are designed for students between the ages of 6 – 17yrs. Here are the details of the camps being offered. 

Shooting Camp –  June 18-22
Learn from local shooting experts everything you need to know about the shooting sports. The camp will include hunter education, shooting basics, firearm care, shooting sports safety and more. Bring a .20 gauge or request a loaner gun.
Shells not provided. 12-17 year olds.

Conservation Camp –  June 25-29
Campers will go hands-on at our 400-acre Outdoor Education Center to learn all about wildlife and habitat conservation. We’ll go on nature walks, observe life cycles, learn about prescribed fire, explore the food web and more. 6 -12 year olds.

Hunting and Fishing Camp –  July 9-13
A camp designed for the future generation of hunters and anglers. We’ll be busy all week, starting with a SC DNR fishing clinic. We’ll go fishing for bass, brim, and catfish in our two ponds. Then the hunt is on with shooting safety and firearm practice, game calling, mock hunts and trap shooting at the Palmetto Shooting Complex. 10 -14 year olds.

STEM In The Outdoors Camp – July 16-20
Experience how STEM fields tie into outdoor conservation. From forestry to engineering, STEM is everywhere in nature. We’ll be building boats and bridges, cooking in solar ovens, practicing sustainability habits and stretching our imaginations to the limits.
6 -12 year olds.

Outdoor Survival Camp –  July 23-27
We’re looking for tough kids who aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty. We’ll be building shelters and fires, purifying water, finding food sources and learning the do’s and don’ts of surviving in the great outdoors. 10 -14 year olds.
