Fishing With Kids in the CSRA

We love spring and summer activities!! Fishing is always a go to when you want to do something out of the ordinary. This is an inexpensive activity for the whole family to enjoy. The CSRA is blessed with such great waterways that are within driving distance and it is a great way to make memories!! Here is a list of great places to fish with your kiddos this spring and summer.

Brickyard Ponds
Brickyard Ponds is one of Augusta best-kept fishing secrets. Located on 2,000 acres of land sits over 21 ponds right off of Gordon Highway. It is a popular spot for many local fishermen and women. They offer a one-day fishing permit for $5.00 and children are free with an adult. You can fish as long as you want and no permit is needed. Pack a lunch, stop by the bait and tackle shop and enjoy a fun day with the kids. *Please beware there are alligators and snakes*

Boyd Pond Park
Boyd Pond Park is located in Aiken, SC. Once formally known as the SRS employee recreational facility. This is a great location to take the kids. There is a 300 ft boardwalk to sit and cast a line. In addition, there is picnic areas, playgrounds and hiking trails nearby. It has a nice wooden canopy which is wonderful for those hot summer days!

Fishing CSRA

Aiken State Park
Aiken State Park is located in Windsor, SC right outside of Aiken. This park area is great for fishing with three lakes and access to the Edisto River. There is also some picnic areas, a playground, and trails for hiking.

Fishing CSRA

Riverview Park Fishing Piers
The Riverview Park Fishing Piers are located in North Augusta, SC next to the boat ramp in Riverview Park. There are two piers that face the riverfront. You can cast your lines and still be close to facilities nearby. Riverpark has picnic areas, a playground, restrooms and ball fields.

Fishing CSRA

New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam
The New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam is located near the Bush Field Airport. The locks are permanently closed but you may fish at the fishing stations. There are picnic shelters, restrooms and grilling areas nearby.

Diamond Lakes
Diamond Lakes is located in Hephzibah, GA. This recreation area has four fully stocked ponds and is conveniently located next to playgrounds, picnic areas, and campgrounds.

Clarks Hill Lake
Clarks Hill Lake is a popular spot for both the South Carolina side and the Georgia side of the CSRA. In addition to being a great fishing spot, you can make a whole day of it. Clarks Hill Lake has beach swimming areas and places to picnic
