Old Fashion Fun Day
Join us on Sunday, August 20th for a good old fashioned fun day!
There will be crafts from the past, games from your childhood, scavenger hunts that take you all over the museum and the amazing bluegrass tunes of Rae’s Creek Revival. It’s all indoors so you can beat the August heat and, since it’s August, you can take advantage of our Dollar Dog Days and gain entrance to the Museum for just $1.00!
1:30-3:00pm: Historic Fiber Crafts- Garden City Room
We will break out our looms, work on braided coasters, and use other scrap fiber, yarn and textiles to create beautiful crafts that are also functional.
3:00pm: Performance From Rae’s Creek Revival- Museum Rotunda
These string playing guys and gal will take the stage at 3:00pm for a great afternoon of music and fun in the Museum’s Rotunda. This Augusta based band is made up of Catherine Barrett Robertson, Bryan Hatch & Luke Teague.
3:00-4:30pm: Games of The Past- Activity Center
Have you ever played Tiddlywinks? How about Table Skittles? I’m sure you’re familiar with Connect Four and Jenga! We will have board games from the past out in the Activity Center for you and your family to play with along with some group activities!
ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE DAY
Augusta Sports Scavenger Hunt – Visitors are invited to explore the Museum’s permanent exhibits hunting for the many athletes and sporting activities that have found a home in Augusta. This scavenger hunt is great for adults and children and will take you through the entire museum.
