Intro to Roblox Development
Date and Time: June 6 – 10 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

In this hands-on, fully guided experience, Ninjas will learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, online gaming platform. Ninjas will spend their time building and exploring new worlds in Roblox before sharing their creations locally and globally. This camp will teach Ninjas how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world to create much more than just a game!
Become a YouTuber! (FULL)
Date: June 6 – 10 (12:30PM – 3:30PM)

Ninjas will learn how to create and customize their own YouTube channel, including the design of unique channel art, profile pictures, and video thumbnails. They will also be guided through how to record, edit, and upload videos. Throughout camp, ninjas will analyze popular YouTube videos and learn about copyrights and fair use to give them what it takes to become a YouTuber!
Modding with Minecraft®
Date and Time: June 13 – 17 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Developed for experienced Minecraft® players, this camp teaches Ninjas how to make unique mods (modifications that change the game)! They will create their own custom tools, weapons, armor, enemies, and more! By the end of the camp, Ninjas will be able to export their mods for friends and family to explore at home using Minecraft® Java Edition.
Stop Motion Animation
Date and Time: June 13 – 17 (12:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

Ninjas will experiment with video production through a variety of mediums including Claymation, LEGO® Minifigures, paper cutouts, and more! Capturing images frame-by-frame, they will produce videos in a rapid prototyping style. Ninjas will work on various shorts including magic trick illusions, a 3-part story, walking character animations, and more! They will work independently on their videos and collaborate in teams during the entire design process.
Next Level Roblox Development
Date and Time: June 21 – 24 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Experienced Roblox game builders will take their skills to the next level in this camp as they learn coding fundamentals and dig deeper into the game-making side of Roblox. Using the Lua programming language Ninjas will create their own timed, sudden-death Roblox game along with an interactive obstacle course. By the end of camp, ninjas will showcase their game, play their peers’ games, and publish their creation to the Roblox world. (Intro to Roblox Development camp or similar Roblox experience required.)
Intro to Web Development
Date and Time: June 21 – 24 (12:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

Ninjas will learn about creative website development by building their own website and fan page. As Ninjas work on various project prompts, they will gain a foundational understanding of HTML and CSS. Using these essential computing languages, Ninjas will publish websites and share links to showcase what they’ve learned.
Code Your Own Robot in Minecraft®
Date and Time: June 27 – July 1 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Ninjas will use code to control a robot in Minecraft Education Edition®. Through simple programming, they’ll apply complex computer science concepts to automate the boring parts of Minecraft® such as farming, digging and more. Ninjas will use concepts like loops and functions to code crazy things like spawning hundreds of chickens from the sky! They will have a blast sharing their work and playing in a world together with their fellow campers.
Moviemaking with Minecraft®
Date and Time: June 27 – July 1 (12:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

Ninjas will shift their imagination into high gear as they learn scene building, storytelling, and video recording featuring their own Minecraft® world. They will also jump into the basics of editing and mixing audio as they produce their final stories as short movies. Using Minecraft® as a creative medium, Ninjas will have fun expressing themselves and sharing their stories with friends. They will leave this camp with a deeper understanding of how creativity and technology can work together to tell exciting stories.
Composing with Code
Date and Time: July 11 – 15 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Ninjas will compose with code as they learn how to program music in an application called Sonic Pi. They will combine music and computer science concepts to ignite a new passion in the digital arts world. Ninjas will recreate songs, build original soundscapes, make unique beats, and perform songs live, all using code. Ninjas will be able to use Sonic Pi at home and can continue working on their songs even after camp is over.
Program and Play in Python
Date and Time: July 11 – 15 (12:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

Boost coding skills while learning and playing with friends in this crash course on the Python programming language – no previous coding experience is required! Ninjas will follow along with the “Code this Game!” book to build a strategy action game from the ground up in Python. As they practice game design concepts like spawning and enemy AI, they will begin to see how computer code is behind all the games and programs we use daily. Code Senseis will then guide Ninjas as they modify the game to create their own unique versions.

Adventures in Game Design

Ninjas will explore different programming concepts as they create various games inspired by Breakout, Snake, Flappy Bird, and more using a block-based programming language called Scratch—a kid-friendly, visual programming environment developed by MIT. Our team will introduce basic game design and programming concepts like loops, functions, and even video detection to create their own games.
Code Your Own Cartoons
Date and Time: July 25 – 29 (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Ninjas will learn how to express themselves and let their creativity shine through code as they work together to craft silly, scary, and exciting cartoons in Scratch—a kid-friendly, visual programming environment developed by MIT. Throughout this experience, Ninjas will level up their knowledge of basic coding concepts as well as their storytelling abilities.
Robotics with LEGO®
Date and Time: July 25 – 29 (12:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

Throughout this camp, Ninjas will make silly dancing robots, a working safe with password detection, a racing rhino, and more! Using the LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime robotics kit, Ninjas will learn the fundamentals of how to design, build, and code robots. They will also apply their new knowledge of sensors, motors, and coding as they construct their own creations.
